Every minute spent thinking things up…

Someone cares for you

It is hard for a family to admit something is wrong with one of them. That’s why a lot of people with problems have a hard time coping. They probably feel like the people around them do not want to be burdened by it. At Passages Malibu, every one cares for your well-being. Every one would want to see you bounce back to your feet and live life the way you should again. There are drug and alcohol dependents who have made it big in life after being ‘healed’.

Let it be said that Passages does not treat your addiction as a problem. The good thing about Passages is that they are using a holistic recovery approach. There is something behind the addiction that triggers it. That’s what Passages Malibu will focus on. The underlying cause of addiction. I agree on this approach. Because you know, at the end of the day, the person really has a reason why he turned to drugs or alcohol. I am not tolerating their solution to their problems. I am just stating a fact.

Mel Gibson was treated for alcohol addiction. Other celebrities are reported to have checked into a rehabilitation facility to help them cope with drug addiction. There’s someone out there who cares about your well-being. Remind yourself that. Always. Read more about what Passages can do for you at Passages Malibu blog. Get help. Call 866-850-6673 now. Every phone call is answered 24 hours a day. Or go to PassagesMalibu.com now for more information about the facility and the program they use.

New tv?

A brand new tv set, complete with those plasma mounts maybe, will probably be inserted in my budget for this week. Our tv’s acting up and it’s really a bummer for us who loves watching cable shows. I don’t know if we can survive four days of no tv. We’re so used to the sound of it. We’re used to the news program on during lunch. The little girl is even asking for her favorite cartoon shows.

So I might be busting my savings and buying a brand new tv within the week. Or I might miss my favorite tv shows. Darn!

My fluffy slippers

Presenting… my very own fluffy slippers!

MyFluffy Slippers

I love it! It’s so soft and heaven to my tired aching feet. I found it at the department store for a little over $2. There are other colors but I chose this one because pink’s just cute to me these days.

I am thinking of buying other fluffy slippers but this one will do for now.

Do you like it?

;)

Fascinated by it

GroceryCounter

The little girl is fascinated with the Symbol LS2208 barcode scanner found at the grocery store near our place of residence. She would stare at it the entire time the items we bought were being calculated. She probably wonders if it’s a gun of an alien or something.

For myself, I find it convenient. Tallying of items bought becomes faster and easier when there’s a barcode scanner in place.

Cravings

Pancakes

I find myself always hungry. Maybe because I am always thinking about food. Like right now, my mind is full of pancakes. I find myself craving for a food I have eaten and find good. Or a food a friend told me about that she found good. I don’t think the best weight loss pills can put a stop to these uncontrollable cravings of mine. The thing with me is that when I crave for something and I don’t get to eat it right away, I become fixated on that food.

For weeks now, I find myself craving for Sisig Rice. Jay-J’s version of it, that is. It’s just too good! I swear if you are a fried rice kind of person, you will love it.

Now, I am craving for it again…

Puck singing Sweet Caroline

Don’t you just love guys who have really good voices? I’ve been watching GLEE with my siblings and this is one of my favorites from the hit FOX series…

That’s Puck singing Sweet Caroline for you GLEEks out there! He is adorable in that scene! I am not much of a Puck fan but after this episode, I became one.

Love it! Don’t you?

;)

Family trip

The motorhome was finally delivered to Angie’s house. Now their family is preparing for the long-awaited trip to the lake. They’ve been planning it for months and they thought that since they will be on the road for a month, they better get a motorhome to bring with them.

I love going on trips with the family. It is a great way to bond with every member of the family, especially those you that much anymore because of work. But a trip can also cost a lot so proper planning is a must in order not to dry up your funds.

Sensitive feelings

When you are busy with work and family life, you tend to forget about the other people around you. Those not a kin but are more closer to you than one. And then something happens that will make you remember them…

My uncle was looking for a cheap rv repair when he suddenly remembered a friend of his he hadn’t spoken to in a while. His friend is a mechanic who loves doing repairs for friends for free. My uncle visited him and that’s when he found out his friend was hurt by the fact that he hadn’t been visiting him for over a year. His friend is an emotional person, and his sensitive feelings were hurt. Good thing he’s also easily won back so they’re now back to being great friends by my uncle who promised to visit more often.

It’s our turn now.

It’s not easy taking care of a cleaning franchise and an older family member who’s sick. I have actually experienced it first hand so I know…

My maternal grandmother is now bedridden. She’s sick with diabetes and have been slowly shutting out the world. Some of our relatives have been telling me to bring her to a facility so that it won’t be a burden for us nursing her daily. But I can’t bring myself to do it. She is not a burden to us. She had taken care of us when we were struggling financially and emotionally and now that it’s her turn to be struggling, I want us to be there for her.

I am now paying for her bills. I have employed someone to be by her side all the time. I give her what she wants as long as it is okay for her. She’s diabetic so her food is always being checked. I visit her regularly since I live just a few houses away from her. I make sure that she’s fine despite being bedridden for months.

When we were little kids, our grandparents took care of us when our parents were busy with work. It’s our turn now to take care of our elders. Are you ready to take on that responsibility?

Where I want to be right now

Maldives

At the beach. Relaxing. Soaking in the sun. Walking on the sand. Thinking of nothing but the next scrumptious meal to be served. Or what fruit shake to order next.

A girl can dream…

Anne and her tv shows

My friend, Anne, is looking for DirecTV is her area. You can’t imagine how much Anne loves her tv shows. Quote of the day

quote

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

- Mark Twain

I hope you are all enjoying your week. Remember what the quote said, sail away from the safe harbour. Get out of your comfort zone! There’s so much out there for us to explore and discover.

Happy mid-week everyone!

A romantic night

Sheena is overly excited about the fact that her boyfriend who’s working abroad is coming over for a two-week vacation. She’s asking me to help her come up with ideas on how she can make their two weeks extra special. When I saw shower enclosures, I knew right away how she can create their first night really romantic!

A shower together will be great. Or a soak in the tub. It will reacquaint them. It will rekindle their passion for each other. I told Sheena to write something romantic on the shower enclosure using a lipstick. Light lavender-scented candles around the tub and near the shower enclosure. Let rose petals float on the tub. Set a champagne bottle and two glasses near the tub, with probably some strawberries coated with chocolate. Put on Forever in Love by Kenny G. on repeat, lower the volume, just enough for the music to be heard on the background…

And cap the night between freshly-laundered silk sheets spritzed with lavender-scented spray.

Sheena is happy with my idea. I actually like it, too! I might even try it myself. I know she will do this for the first night he’s in town. And I know that whatever they do for the rest of his two-week stay will be memorable for the both of them.

Ah, love.

Last three movies

What were the last three movies you saw and did you enjoy them?

The last 3 movies I saw are Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Dear John, and Sherlock Holmes. I enjoyed the first and last one. The middle is just okay.

LightningThief

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief was good. The movie is about the son of Poseidon and how he found out he was a descendant of a Greek god. He is a demi-god being accused of stealing Zeus’ thunderbolt. After watching the movie, it made you want to grab your old mythology book and read it all over again.

Dear John is a love story between a soldier and a college girl. They met while she’s on vacation. After years of maintaining a long-distance relationship (he’s somewhere being a soldier, she’s in college in the US) through exchange of letters (thus, the title of the movie), she just decided that it’s over. She stopped writing to him and decided to marry the family friend who’s older than her and has an autistic son. When they saw each other years later, John going home because his father died, she realized how much she’s still in love with John (who wouldn’t? He’s uber hot!). Long story short, the husband had cancer and died. She and John reconnected and lived happily ever after.

After watching the movie, it made me want to strangle the girl for being fickleminded!

Sherlock Holmes is a really good movie! Jude Law and Robert Downey, Jr. are the best! I went out of the movie house in love with them both haha

Random thoughts for today…

  • I want a new digital camera. My old digicam is still working but it was thick compared to the new models that are coming out which are thin. It also uses a rechargeable battery. I want a Cybershot or a Canon. Of course, I still need to save up for it. Spending for this year is planned, budgeted first. That way, I won’t be tempted to overspend like I did the past three years.
  • Someone I know was being invited by her friends to dinner. Her friends really went out of their way to invite her because they miss her. But instead of being happy with it, she got annoyed! She told the person who texted her to inform her 3 days beforehand so she can tell them if she’s available or not. Wow.
  • My guilty pleasure, PerezHilton.com is no longer how it used to be. It’s now obviously written by someone else who’s not as witty as Perez. You can tell from the number of comments that the popularity of the site is never the same as before.
  • Yesterday was my ex-best friend’s birthday. She’s the only friend I had that is the exact replica of my mind and heart. I miss her. And our crazy daily conversations from 10PM to 4AM. The phone line was literally burning from our girl talks! I wonder if she sometimes misses me, too. Sigh.

New beginning

cruise

Romance can be found anywhere. In school, at the workplace, on a vacation, even on a cruise. Who really knows when it will strike you, right?

My friend broke up with her boyfriend of three years. She was really heartbroken for a while. After crying her eyes out, she decided that she needed a fresh start. A new beginning for her after the heartache. First step is to go on a cruise. Alone. She wants to feel the liberty of being single. And what do you know! She found a man who made her feel alive again. They were “exclusive” during the 5-day cruise. They really hit it off, you could tell from her stories. He made her laugh. He dared her to try some activities she normally wouldn’t try and she did!

They parted ways as friends after the cruise. They promised to keep in touch. But my friend knew it would just be a one-time thing. A summer fling, if you must. It’s fine with her. It was a memorable cruise, one that she will never forget until she grows old and gray.

A cruise is a great way to meet people. It is a great way to find a new beginning. I know someone who met his wife in a cruise. If you are looking for love or a fun time being single, looking to meet new friends, hook up with someone, a cruise is a great venue for it. Get on one now! Who knows, you just might find a hot guy for a summer fling like my friend.

Just what we all need…

I live a big life. But in reality it’s the small things that fill me up.

A friend for a season

BFF

Of all the friends I gained over the course of my life, the one I had so much connection with was S. It was unbelievable for me to find someone who had the same taste in music, books, boys, and movies. Unbelievable even to find someone who share the same views on life as I do. You can say that I found half of myself in her. I loved her like a sister and I know she felt the same way.

Something happened for her to walk out of my life. It was over a dispute I had at work. We had another friend to whom we were both close to. A big misunderstanding happened and since the other friend was in allegiance with my former boss, the dispute grew big. Until I found myself shutting them both out of my life. It was a painful period. I still regret not talking to them after I resigned from my job. It would have cleared things up. But then I was hurt and not thinking rationally that time.

Looking back, I am not so sure anymore if we could have worked things out. I guess something as precious as what I had could really be taken away in an instant. S was a friend I had for a season. Someone who made me happy when problem after problem marked my life. Someone who helped me know who I truly am. Someone who made me realize what friendship is.

I am remembering those years I was still friends with her. It’s her 32nd birthday today. Had we still been friends, I know I would have been over to her house celebrating this day with her. Alas, it won’t ever happen again.
