My cute coin purse =)

Remember I told you about how much I love coin purses? Well, it turned out that a blogger-friend of mine read it and thought of giving me a coin purse to make me smile.

She did! She gave it to me last holiday season and I love it!

Thanks, my friend! I am using it for a month already and I love squeezing the purse’s legs hehehe

Is it Thursday yet?

I am confused by the days. I thought it’s just Wednesday! I was listening to Wave 89.1 and I was wondering why Battlefield is being played right now. Wednesdays are for old music… Wave Back Wednesday. When I checked the calendar, that’s when I realized it’s Thursday!

chickenthursday

Sigh. Last week, the lack of sleep confused me. Now, the over-sleeping is causing me confusion, too! Hahaha

Somewhat traditional me

Your Handwriting Says You Are Somewhat Traditional

You are a laid back person with rather low energy. You aren’t lazy… you *are* sensitive and empathetic.

You are somewhat outgoing, but you’re not a natural extrovert. You think first before you act. You tend to be independent, rational, and logical.

You are balanced and grounded. You know how to get along well with others.

You need a bit of space in your life, but you’re not a recluse. You expect people to give you a small amount of privacy, and you respect their privacy as well.

You are somewhat traditional, but you are also open to change. You listen to your head and your heart.

You are a decent communicator. You eventually get your point across, but sometimes you leave things a bit ambiguous.

The Green Police

We all need to do our share in saving the environment. The green police is here to make sure that those who are violating the environment will get what’s due them.

The Green Police is actually a group of twenty police officers from the New York City’s Department of Environmental Conservation. They are called the Green Police because they enforce environmental regulations and issue citations to environmental violators. I applaud New York City for doing this. We all need to do our share in ensuring that our environment will not deteriorate more and will even be improved as a way to save it. Think global warming and the effects that we are now experiencing. We can still do something to save our environment from further destruction if only we do our part and there are enforcers like the Green Police.

The number one violator of the environment are those who are not complying with emission standards. Think of air pollution when you see a car exhaust emitting dark and dirty smoke. In short, smoke belchers! There are many violators out there. The Green Police is equipped with exhaust measuring gauges for emission law enforcement. Those gauges can measure the amount of pollution a vehicle is emitting. The Green Police is also there to protect endangered species. They are also there to ensure that people follow the laws on anything environment-related. This is a big task considering the environment is already in danger and it needs all the protection it can get.

Let’s support groups like these. The Bowling Green Police Division is the kind of group that we all need to support. We need to help them create awareness and help them protect the environment. There are so many people out there who violate the environment. Let’s make sure the Green Police will get them!

Money like water

Money is like water sometimes. It just washes away easily. I once lived from hand to mouth, several years like that in fact. It was horrible to live that way. There’s no guarantee for what will happen tomorrow because you are constantly looking for a source of income. Even with a steady, good-paying job, if you are supporting a family with two to three kids going to school, it is never enough. It will never be enough.

Time will come when you will succumb to the lure of credit cards and personal loans. I did. And I regretted it. Big time! I sunk deep in the mud of debts. Interest expenses were higher than me. I didn’t know how I could eliminate one debt after another when interest and late fees kept piling up month after month. You are working so damn hard to make both ends meet and at the same time meet the demands of your creditors. I’ve been there. Done that.

Now, my uncle is in the same situation. Credit card problems. I kept wishing I could help them but I can’t because I have a brother who’s in college and I am supporting his education. I just pity him and his family, especially I know how it feels to be in that situation. But I can’t do anything except pray that something good will come out of this.

Better wedding plan

My sister’s best friend and her groom postponed their wedding a few months ago. She was disappointed because there were circumstances in her life that prevented her from pushing through with the wedding. My sister told her that it might be a blessing in disguise. And it turned out that it is!

They are now considering destination weddings. They are looking at Karisma Hotels, particularly at the El Dorado Seaside Suites at the Riviera Maya. They are thinking of bringing with them their immediate family and some very close friends. I think it will turn out great for them considering instead of spending their wedding with people they barely know, they are spending the very special occasion in their lives with only the closest to them.

Plus, the El Dorado Seaside Suites is the perfect place for their honeymoon!

If you are thinking of a wedding destination, go and check out KarismaHotels.com now.

Comfy couch and me

comfycouch

In all honesty, I’m the type of person who is easily enchanted over little things. Mundane, as my friend would have it. I saw a couch the last time I went to the home section of my favorite mall. If I have the money with me, I would have bought it right away! I love the couch that much!

I sat on it and I felt an instant connection to it. Much like the comfy couch in the photo above. Instant attraction, I tell you. I saw myself sitting on it in a cozy, cold night, draped in my warm blanket and reading a good book.

Love it!

Loves fashion

I may not be a fashion plate but I do love fashion! One of my favorite shows is Project Runway and I really follow it. I love Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg, and a lot more fashion designers whose clothes I really dig. It would be really great if I will be given a chance to go to fashion week and hob nob with the who’s who in the fashion world. That would really top my list of awesome experiences for sure!

Imagine, I could get close and personal with the designers and the tons of designer clothes around. Wow! I would particularly love to go to the Fall 2010 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. It is held in (where else?) New York City and this year it will be on February 11-18. It is a major fashion week, one of the four in the fashion industry. It would be a huge deal to be there! You can’t just go, you need an invitation to be admitted. Every one in the fashion industry, fashion press, celebrities, and internet based fashion press. What I would give to be there! I am sure every one who wants to be “in” in the fashion world would also give an arm and leg to be able to attend the Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week.

I would!

Travel with me to… New York City =)

One city that I’ve always wanted to go to is New York City. It was a place I’ve always loved since I was a teen. I may not know what to expect when I get there but I know I will go to Central Park first!

central-park

A local celebrity always spends his holidays in New York City. All by his lonesome. Come the eve of Christmas, he’d stay in Central Park, bringing with him his laptop and other gadgets. He just loves to feel the spirit of Christmas while freezing his butt there.

As for me, I’d be fine without the snow :)

times-square

Another place I’d always wanted to go to in NYC is Times Square. I just love the feel of the rush of the place and the feel that you are always on the go. Plus, have you seen Times Square on New Year’s Eve countdown?

Spectacular!

I would love to go there NOW. There are also other places in New York City I’d want to go to. But these two will do for now.

Come back for more, okay? Just look for the title Travel with Me.

Random: Shelling out money easily

This is something totally random. My mind is full of random things.

When I have money, I feel like I need to buy so many things. I remember buying a portable keyboard just because I wanted to. I haven’t been using it a lot and it’s just lying here under my computer tower, collecting dust. I tried using it a couple of times but I hated the feel of it on my fingertips so I stopped each and every time I tried.

I also have a couple of books I bought just because I was in the bookstore. Most of it I haven’t read because I am maintaining a tight schedule since the start of the holiday season up to now. I know I will be able to read it but I just think I shelled out the money too easily even though I knew my schedule to be tight.

The same goes for some other items here at home that I was surprised to find that I bought without any need to. Sigh.

And now I conclude this post by saying that I will no longer buy things that I don’t really, really need! That’s another goal that I hope to achieve this year. As I’ve said, this is the year to start living the right life.

Are you checking out Philadelphia apartments? Have you found the one you are looking for? Does it meet all your requirements or are you just settling for one that “will do”?

I know how hard it is to find an apartment. It has to meet your needs. Most people look for the best location. I have a friend who settled for a premium priced apartment because of the location. The place is slightly larger than a bird cage but she settled for it because it’s near her workplace. It is actually just a building away. But if you will ask about the amenities of the place? You’d be extremely disappointed like me.

Some people I know want a spacious apartment. Some even look for the amenities (swimming pool, fitness center/gym, daycare, etc.) before checking the unit itself. Or those with security issues check the security features of the place first. We all have different needs that we want met. And when you badly need to transfer to a new apartment, finding the one for you can become a source of stress!

Just make sure you don’t settle for an apartment that “will do”. Find the one that will meet ALL your requirements. And your budget. There’s an apartment just like that waiting for you.

Cute coin purse

cute-wool-coin-purse

If you’ve been reading this blog, you probably know by now that I have an obsession with anything cute. Especially coin purses and fluffy slippers! I found this cute wool coin purse and I think I will look for one when I go to the mall again. It’s sooo cute!

My friend, Anna, gave me a really, really cute coin purse. I actually took a couple of photos of it but due to my digicam acting up, I was not able to upload the photos yet. But I will try later so I can post it here. I’ve been using it and it’s just so darn cute!

Dell, trusted name in PCs

I was introduced to Dell when I worked for a call center company a couple of years ago. All the computers in the company, which numbered hundreds, are from Dell. You couldn’t find any other brand there because they really wanted quality computers only.

Dell, the number one PC provider in the US, offers great PC deals directly to consumers and businesses. I know this for a fact because I was not just a plain employee in the company I mentioned but I was also part of the purchasing team. I know also that aside from computers, Dell also offers printers, scanners, digital cameras and televisions. I love the fact that the name Dell is equal to quality made products so every cent you shell out for this brand is worth it. My friend’s Dell laptop has been with him for over three years now and it’s still in good working condition. We all know that the average life of a laptop is only between one to three years.

If you are thinking of getting a Dell product, there are Dell coupons that you can find all over the internet. Aside from the coupon codes, you can even find all kinds of software/ anti-virus promotions and Dell PC buying incentives. Dell is not only known for its PCs but also for its servers and hardware accessories.

Go get a Dell product now and be assured you are getting your money’s worth.

Changed woman

A friend of mine was painfully shy back in high school. I remember seeing her always with a hanky ready to cover even her smallest of smiles. She was shy that way. She’s only warm up to you after talking to you for probably an hour or so. And then you could expect your ears to ring from her incessant chatter.

Fast forward to 2009. We were planning a get-together for a friend who came home from Canada. I was so lazy to organize it so I asked her if she could do it. You know what? She’s more than capable of organizing the get-together! She really made people to show up! I told her that she’s changed and that she’s now more outgoing. I really praised her for the great get-together we had.

Time really changes a person. I think we’ve reversed roles now.

I choose…

happiness

I am choosing to be happy than stressed out. I am choosing to be positive amidst all the trials coming my way. I am choosing to feel blessed more than anything else. Because I am happy and blessed.

Happy Sunday everyone! Enjoy the last day of the weekend. I hope you are all having a blast wherever you are right now! ;)

Really cold at night

sleep

I don’t know if you’ve noticed it but it’s been two weeks now that the weather’s turned from really hot to really cold. My sister and I took out the heated blanket so we can put it on the sofa for whoever’s on it to use. Good thing my blanket on my bed is of good quality and can really take away the coldness of the night.

Course it would have been better to have someone to snuggle with. Riiiight!

Useful internet

You know how useful the internet is? You can buy things online now. You can clean the house, attend to your kids and shop at the same time! All you need to do is go online and voila! You can do your shopping while inside the house! A friend of mine is working abroad. But because of the internet, she was able to shop for pond supplies that her kid needs. She just had the supplies delivered to their house.

No wonder there are supermoms out there right now. It is possible now to do so many things at once and still shop or search. Thanks to the internet for that!

Personally, I can work while at the same time check what’s happening to people I love. That’s because my work is online and I can check through Twitter and Facebook and Yahoo Messenger whatever is happening to my family, relatives and friends.

Quote of the day

quote

Beauty comes as much from the mind as from the eye.

- Grey Livingston

You can be beautiful when people look at you. But you have to have something sensible that will come out of your mouth to be able to sustain being beautiful in the eyes of the people looking at you. You know what they say about beauty and brains, right?
