Remember my post about my love for cars? Well, people close to me know that. It’s no surprise then that they talk to me about cars whenever I get to chat with them. One of my cousins who is an auto fan like me told me about the oil change and tune up he recently had done to his car. And instead of using the neighborhood mechanic, whom he thinks is doing something to make sure he comes back for another repair, he used the internet to find an alternative. And he found Repair Pal.

The technology of today never ceases to amaze me. There are just so many new gadgets, softwares and services that can make life easier for so many people. 24/7 home monitors, wireless alarms, diabetic patches that eliminate the need for insulin injections, hosted IVR platform services, internet refigerator that can give out recipes, and so much more!
Take for example the technology being used by the call centers today. Can you imagine calling from a toll-free number abroad and getting it here? The technology they are using for re-routing the calls is truly amazing. I once worked for such a company so I know how this technology works.
I am a frustated IT wanna-be. Whenever there’s a new technology that I find fascinating, I check it out and study it if I feel that it will further my career. Or benefit me somehow. I learned a lot of things by myself and will continue learning about the simply amazing new technology that comes out.

I really need a new laptop. The one I have right now is already a mess
Some keys won’t funtion anymore. The monitor is acting up when I boot it up. And the browsers are all messing up with my online time instead of helping it.
If I buy a new one, I want a Sony Vaio Pink laptop! See the photo above? That’s what I like!
Now, the only problem I have is the funds. I need to start saving up for my Pinkie!
When we were growing up, going to the dentist only happens when a tooth was to be extracted. We didn’t have enough that time to merit regular trips to the dentist. That’s why we have a bit crooked set of teeth and didn’t have pearly whites.
But since we now have our own funds, we set aside money for regular trips to our family dentist. We love our dentist because she has gentle hands and a pleasant disposition that will make your trip to her clinic a happy one. She is also an honest person because she won’t pretend to know everything but would refer you to an expert instead. If you need a
San Diego Neuromuscular Dentist, she will refer you to the one she knows or to the best in the field. She won’t even charge you anything if she feels like she haven’t done that much for you, like what happened when a molar extracted from me needed the expertise of another dentist. She just charged the medications used and no fee from her.
So how’s your dental experience? Do you have a family dentist you go to?
My dad used to be just a working man, a corporate guy. He was a doting dad, but he was always at work or when at home, he’s hanging out with his friends. When he stopped working for the big companies and instead settled for a small business of his own, he became domesticated. Believe me, my dad cooks really delicious adobo, pork steak, menudo, caldereta, and sweet and sour fish fillet this side of the city. And I am not saying this because he’s my dad! Even he was surprised by how good he can cook. He also realized he loves gardening a lot. He does not have a green thumb but he can manage. He also learned that he loves shopping for home items like the recent trip to the hardware store to check out the de-thatching rakes that he saw on home shopping tv.
Do I love the dad of the past or the changed man that we have in our lives now? Of course, the latter! There are days when he slips back to the man of the past: cranky at even the littlest things, drinking with my uncles during special occasions, and just plain grouchy all day long. But at the start of a new day, the changed man emerges and I am thankful for it.

Bottled waters and some canned goods were gone from the shelves!
I must admit that we were guilty of this. Panic buying. Last Tuesday, September 29, my sisters and I went to the mall and did some grocery shopping. We really bought a lot. Stocked up was what we did. We bought quite a lot of biscuits, noodles, canned goods, instant oatmeal, bottled water and some candy bars. During Ondoy, we were not prepared and we didn’t have even biscuits at home. With the news that Pepeng would be a super typhoon, we didn’t take any chances and really stocked up.
Lucky enough, Pepeng didn’t hit the metro as expected.

The food that we bought will be our supply for the next two weeks. Nothing’s going to waste because we stocked basic items for every day consumption. I normally don’t advise panic buying. But then when we heard of Pepeng, coming from Ondoy, we realized what it truly meant to panic.
I believe in the power of prayers. When a lot of people are bombarding heaven with a single plea, chances are He will hear it. Probably get annoyed with us or amused so He will grant our fervent desires.
I think that’s what happened to Typhoon Pepeng. Filipinos fervently prayed that it won’t hit the metro and neighboring provinces and it didn’t! Too bad there are still some provinces like Cagayan, Pangsinan, Ilocos and some northern Luzon provinces that were affected.
I am hoping and praying that everyone’s safe right now.

When I am feeling down or just plain sluggish, I eat chocolates. It’s an upper for me. But for the past year now, I noticed that I am no longer a big fan of anything chocolate-y. Whereas before I can eat a whole bar by myself, a single small bite will do for me these days. If I force myself to finish off more than that, expect a sore throat even if I drink a gallon of water after. I still love chocolate dips and cups of hot choco but not too much as before.
Maybe, I got over it. Maybe, it has something to do with my taste buds now. But chocolates is not much of an upper for me anymore.
I love my cellphone. I have two right now, one I don’t use that much for texting or calling but I still keep for sentimental reasons. The other one came free with a postpaid plan. I take care of the things I own. My old cellphone is already six years old. Imagine that! Still fully functioning and even acts as an ebook reader for me.
A friend of mine is telling me about the Verizon Touch Pro 2 Accessories that she saw at Think:Touch Pro 2, a website offering different HTC Touch Pro 2 Accessories like cases, batteries, bluetooth headsets, car chargers, cellphone charms and straps and many more. You can easily navigate the site if you go there.
If you are looking for cellphone accessories like the Sprint Touch Pro 2 Accessories, go to ThinkTouchPro2.com now.
My cousin is working for a facility for senior people. The facility is a low-rise building housing a hundred senior people. We got to chat the other day about the calamities happening in different Asian countries and he told me about an incident that happened in their facility just last month. He remembered it because he looked up and saw the exit sign near his office. He remembered that a fire broke out at the third floor of the facility. It was because of a short circuit. Thank God the men and women of the facility have taught the elders to use the fire exits slowly and calmly when an emergency breaks out. Of course, with the help of the facility personnel. Everyone was able to get out and nobody was harmed.
I always say that exit signs are very important in a structure, especially buildings. It can save lives. In an emergency, you get nervous and could get confused on where to exit the place. But when you see these lighted signs, even in a chaotic place you would know the way out.
EXIT SIGNS. Put up these signs in your buildings or facilities. It is mandatory in some places. You know why? Because it is that important!
Time flies so fast! It’s already October 1 today! Before we know it, Halloween is upon us. Then, it’s Thanksgiving. And Christmas!
Since I saw the calendar this morning, my head won’t stop churning out possibilities. I’ve yet to achieve my goals for this year. I’ve so much left undone and I don’t want the new year to arrive with so many of my goals for this year unfinished. I want even half of it done.
Do you know why this blog is called Random Thoughts? It’s because I write down things as they pop in my head! That’s why I publish several entries in a day. These are thoughts that I am ready to share to everyone as they happen to form in my head.
