To the nearest park

park

My sisters and I already made a pact. Come the end of this school year, by second week of April, we will be dragging ourselves to the nearest park every morning to run and do brisk walking. We need it. We are getting older by the day and being overweight can be a big hassle for us.

We are all determined to be fit by the end of summer. Hopefully, lose weight a lot!

I just hope my uncontrollable cravings won’t ruin this goal for me. Mind over matter.

During the season…

When I saw the Nascar jackets my brother was telling me about, I am reminded of an advice my mom used to tell us when she was still alive… buy your summer outfits and beach stuff while it is still the cold season and buy your jackets and other rain gear during the summer. That way, you will get your stuff at a cheaper price unlike when you get it during the season when prices would spike.

Do you also practice this or do you buy your stuff during the same season?

Cute latte cups

Found these cute latte cups online. I want to buy all three! It will be a great addition to my growing collection of coffee cups.

What do you think?

Focus and the muse

My friend is a novelist. She writes novels for a local publication. She is also a contributor to a couple of local magazines as well. Since she needs a place at home where she can concentrate, she turned her den into her own home office. The first thing she had installed in the room are window blinds. I can understand since she needs to focus and find her muse to be able to dish out novel after novel and article after article for her editors. So far, I heard that her home office is the best place where she can truly concentrate on her work.

Window blinds can give you that… concentration. You won’t be distracted by what’s happening outside your window. The bright sun would not bother you. There are people out there who loves being in a dark room. If you have window blinds, even when the sun is shining brightly outside, you can still have a dark room inside. My friend is like that. She can concentrate more when she feels like she’s all alone in the world. According to her, her muse comes out only in the dark.

It actually made me think about having faux wood blinds at home. I am easily distracted. Just a small movement outside my window can derail my train of thought. If my friend can concentrate when the blinds are drawn, I’d like to think that I can, too. It would be great to finally be able to concentrate for hours, without anything to distract me. For sure, I can complete a lot of tasks by then.

Go to SelectBlinds.com now. I will, too. Let’s select the best blinds fit to our windows. The site carries quality made blinds that are on sale right now! Go now and shop for the blinds for you! Who knows, we might find our muse, too!

Ah, bliss…

This would have been a cool place to be right now…

bliss

The water is so near. Plus the place looks cozy. A place where I can read a good book or just catch up on sleep. And then whenever I feel the urge to submerge myself in water, I just have to go to the beach nearby.

Sounds like pure bliss to me!

Marathon movie viewing

My sisters and I can be couch potatoes on weekends. We love marathon movie viewing. We love watching re-runs of our favorite tv shows. There are also days when we tune in to HBO and watch movie after movie. The Samsung HDTV is really a good investment for a family like us. Our TV is not only used as a display but it’s in the living room to be used daily.

To be sure that we are not overusing the TV, though, I bought a small back up one for the bedroom.

Errands and favors

I want to sell my timeshare. That’s what my uncle told me and he wants me to help him find a buyer. A legitimate one, of course. And he wants to be able to do this within the month.

I run errands and do favors for my relatives. The close ones only. It’s okay with me because I know they will do the same should I be the one to ask for it. But I make it a point to tell them that if it’s urgent and I am busy, I can’t do it. If they will allow me to do it according to my schedule, then it’s fine with me.

It’s summer and it’s sooo hot!

The heat is starting to get so unbearable these days. I know it’s summer here in the country but the weather is driving people crazy! I really am so thankful for the fact that I am working at home. Otherwise, I would be one of the crazy people walking under the blistering sun on weekdays rushing to work.

Don’t get me wrong. I love the sun. I love a sunshine-y day. But sweating? That’s what I don’t like at all! Unless I am at the beach or near a pool and I can dip in the water anytime I want.

How about you do you love the sun and the blistering weather?

100% cash business

A friend of mine closed his business because of too many uncollected receivables from clients. Bad management, you can say. I think it traumatized him already. He lost a sizable amount of money from his business venture. But he needs to increase his income. His eldest will start private high school soon. I told him to check out vending machines. It is 100% cash business. No overhead costs to think of. No office rental and utility bills to pay for. No need to spend on advertising costs. It’s a simple business that won’t require too much capital and time from the owner.

I am sure my friend is very much interested in this venture. How about you? Visit Vendstar.com for more information or call them right away.

Starve myself?

dietI swear sometimes it feels like I need to starve myself literally just so I could lose weight. I cut down my intake of sweets. I haven’t been drinking sodas for over two months. I don’t eat chocolates or candies unless there’s an occasion. I have been doing things for me to lose weight.

The only think I have a hard time giving up is rice. Aside from it being a staple in the country, I just don’t feel full without rice for lunch or dinner. Maybe it’s just psychological but it is the only thing that is hindering my weight loss progress.

I wish I can give up rice. Even lessen my intake. I wish I don’t get so hungry easily.

I wish. Sigh…
